I find Suchet's reading so engaging; I feet like I am listening to someone who was there when events unfolded.  :D

I created this thread to store any observations or comments made by those of us listening David Suchet's narration of the Bible; we will have one thread for each book starting with the New Testament. I've provided a suggested listening/commenting window of one week (see dates in title of thread).

This week's book is available in a few different formats. I linked this thread to Bible Gateway's convenient hub offering David Suchet and many others providing audio readings of the books of the bible.

Here is the YOUTUBE link for the book of Acts.

I'll put optional links below in case anyone is looking for additional resources,  along with a link to book club ideas for people reading/listening through the book of Mark.

Here are a few links for those seeking additional sources for listening.

Those listening to David Suchet readings may want to use the list at the bottom of the (linked) page which maps each of Suchet's readings to the books/chapters of the bible covered in each reading.

Here is the link in google to James Earl Jones' readings (YOUTUBE). I note that JEJ's collected readings are also available through Audible and on CD.

Bible Gateway: I discovered that Bible Gateway has many spoken translations, including David Suchet's. I am pleased it automatically continued to the next verse without my intervention.

I have listened to the Book of Acts more than any other book of the Bible. David Suchet brings its narrative to life and you feel like you are right there on the ground.

I listen to the David Suchet-narrated Bible every night (and during the night if I wake up and can't get back to sleep).

Love it.

I have discovered things about the Bible that I had never imagined. The most amazing book in human history.

“I listen to the David Suchet-narrated Bible every night (and during the night if I wake up and can’t get back to sleep).”

Alexander Scourby does a masterful job with the KJV. I think he may be a bit better than Charleston Heston as far as command of the language.

I agree. He has a wonderful talent and I listen to him often. Max Mclean is also very good. Both men avoid adding anything like background music or drama renderings.

And, after all, faith comes by hearing.

Nah, no so much.

Maybe when he was younger and didn’t have that frog in his throat or that British accent.
