Yes, I know all about that WW2 history but YOU did not know how controversial Americans sniping British officers was during the Revolutionary War. Are you even an American?
Let me repeat. In the heady days when the British Empire and Europe was ruled only by Kings and Aristocats it was considered a war crime by the aristocracy for peon troops to shoot aristocratic officers. The British Army cried in its soup over American troops not giving a damn and shooting them dead anyway. It turns out that covering yourself all in red and white and adorning yourself with shiny metals isn’t a bright idea in the middle of a battlefield. The British called it uncivilized and a war crime at the time.
