Also Edgar Rice Burroughs. I enjoyed reading his John Carter novels. Did anyone see the 2012 movie John Carter?

I saw it. It was all right. I enjoyed the television mini series they did of "The Martian Chronicles" with Rock Hudson better. The set and costume/makeup designers really pulled off a miracle despite the limited special effects available at the time.

Was really disappointed with the treatment Philip Jose Farmer's "Riverworld" got when they tried to bring it to the smallish screen.
