Trump has promised to stop the war within 24 hours. He has not given any clue as to how he would do it, but his public rhetoric has not been encouraging.
In fact, this week he sent a message from his luxury golf club in Florida to the Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, to start thinking about a ceasefire and giving up all the occupied territories. “It's nice to say that they want to get their land back, but the cities are mostly destroyed,” he said. “You look at some of these cities and there's not a single building left standing. So when you say 'get the country back'... Get what back? It's a 110-year reconstruction,” he said.
