Rand Paul suggests replacing Mike Johnson with Elon Musk as Speaker of the House. Paul said that 'nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk' as House speaker.

The chaotic collapse of the continuing resolution spending bill is putting House Speaker Mike Johnson’s, R-La., leadership under the spotlight and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has floated the idea of replacing him with Elon Musk, President-elect Trump's pick to co-chair his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

the speaker of the house has to be eligible to hold the office of the presidency—natural born citizen.

Musk would have to relinquish control over Tesla, Space X and X, and that won’t happen.

God forbid if something happened to the POTUS and VP, but couldn’t Musk defer to the next in line.

Elon has a lot of mental bandwidth (far more apparantly than even his fellow billionaires), but at some point he is going to run out.

The Left and the MSM is try to drive a wedge between Elon and Trump by claiming that Elon will be the REAL president behind the scenes. Meanwhile, crickets on who is running the show for Joe Biden.

Musk would qualify under the African-American exemption.

No he doesn’t.

The Supreme Court would decide if that particular Speaker could be installed as President, should it become necessary.

This is not remotely serious, it is designed to inflame the libtards. Which I expect it will do quite well because they are that stupid and will not see it for what it is.

Keep them foaming at the mouth all the time. Makes them just behave even more irrationally.

Let’s get serious - that’ll never happen. And if it did, the vast difference in IQs between Musk and the Pelosi-thing would cause a massive rip in the spacetime continuum.

Heckuvan insight: Second in line of succession to the presidency, so could not be eligible to assume the highest office. Question: Does that necessarily preclude a person from Speaker? Is it possible the succession would skip this spot and go on to . . . President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

You are wrong.

“The act stipulates, that in order for either the speaker or the president pro tempore to become acting president, he or she must meet the requirements for presidential eligibility, and must, prior to acting as president, resign from office, including from Congress.”

If Musk was Speaker at the time of the death of a President, the role would simply pass over him to the next in line.

worth the debate... i assume as speaker he could be passed over for that infringement... open for interpretation.

I don’t think this is the case. A speaker who is non-eligible to hold the Presidency would just be skipped over for the President Pro-Tempore of the Senate if it came down to it.
