Nobody cared that Massie opposed the COVID spending bill. What pissed off a lot of people was that Massie was holding up a bill that was going to pass with 400+ votes in the House anyway.

Maybe Trump’s reaction was a bit harsh - then again, maybe not. But the Republicans can’t afford disunity and if Trump is providing the blueprint for a legislative agenda, now’s not the time to stand in opposition to it because you didn’t get everything you wanted. I think Trump is sending a message to the entire caucus, not just to Chip Roy.
