My journey didn't follow the exact path his did, but there are parallels. Back in 1993/4 I went from having a house, two vehicles and two jobs to having no car, no house and no job. I and my family wound up living in a one bedroom home behind a church, sharing the same bed. It was probably the most heartbreaking moment of my life.

The fault was mine for making the wrong career choices, but no one, no man, should have to go through what I went through. I got hit square in the face with how cruel the world could be and it has shaped my existence ever since.

So while the content of this article is from the viewpoint of a concerned democrat, let's remember that people from both parties have gone through much the same ordeal as this person did. Show some compassion.
