UNICEF Report finds half of all refugees are now children
50 million kids are refugees.
Some 28 million of those children were forced from their homes by war and violence.
And just two countries, Syria and Afghanistan, accounted for around 45 percent of all child refugees.

The regime frequently blocked access for humanitarian assistance and removed items such as medical supplies from convoys headed to civilian areas, particularly areas held by opposition groups.

Media sources and human rights groups varied in their estimates of how many persons have been killed since the beginning of the conflict in 2011. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented more than 570,000 conflict-related deaths from 2011 until March, while the SNHR estimated more than 220,000 civilians were killed during the same time. This large discrepancy was due to the large number of missing and disappeared Syrians, whose fates remained unknown.
