John Kirby, White House national security communications adviser, described Friday’s G7 session as focused on the leaders’ “shared support to Ukraine,” including the use of a World Bank fund to deliver billions in economic aid to the war-torn country. He also told reporters Thursday that Biden had “made clear, we’re going to continue to provide additional packages right up until the end of this administration.”
But in a sweeping interview published Thursday, Trump signaled a much different foreign policy when he takes office.
The soon-to-be-47th president has always been skeptical of — and sometimes combative with — international entities. And he hardly has committed to continuing U.S. economic and military aid to Ukraine, including during his “Person of the Year” interview with Time magazine.
“I’m going to try and help Ukraine but Europe has to get there also and do their job. They’re not doing their job,” the incoming commander in chief said. “Europe is not paying their fair share. … But they’ve taken advantage of us, both on NATO and on Ukraine. We’re in for billions of dollars more than they’re in in Ukraine. It shouldn’t be that way.”

GO TRUMP
Finally!! Wooo..
Zeepers are still waiting for Trump to give Russia the “what fer!”
aka WAR PIGS
Yep.
He didn’t say he’s ending the war: he said he wants Europe to pay for more.
…leaders’ “shared support to Ukraine,” including the use of a World Bank fund to deliver billions in economic aid to the war-torn country…

Stop giving AMERICAN TAXPAYERS’ MONEY to foreign nations and interests. We have plenty of reconstruction projects to do AT HOME IN AMERICA.
Trump wants to end the grift im sure of it
He’s sending the right signals but wont reveal his hand just yet
Right instincts I think.
America First.
There are literally a handful of posters here who will appreciate what that means and welcome it.
Usual (yourself included)
Sad isn’t it because for me foreign policy is one of Trump’s strongest points and it usually defines a presidency long after they’ve gone (legacy).
If the US pulls out it will lead to war. Trump has a big early opportunity to fix it for good. Just make all the nations pay for our involvement.
Then move on to the Middle East.
Putin Butt lovers have no reading comprehension skills.
“I’m going to try and help Ukraine but Europe has to get there also and do their job”
Trump has said ONCE AGAIN he is going to HELP UKRAINE! but resents that Europe is not paying its fair share of the support and help provided to Ukraine.
I know the Putin lovers wet dream is that Trump will somehow magically make Ukraine give up all its territory to Russia, but that is NOT what is going to happen.
I don’t care if he ends the war. Just stop sending US dollars that way. The problem will quickly resolve itself.
The solution is to pull out of NATO, cut off all Aid and Arms and let Ukraine handle Russia or vice versa. Same with the Middle East, cut off all aid and arms to Israel and let them sort out their problems. In addition we must close at least half of the more than 800 overseas bases we have to reduce our Defense Costs.
As of right now the plan is to build an additional 47 bases in the Scandinavian countries and expand a a base in I believe in Romania. That has to come off the table we just can no longer afford it.
I would also be in favor of pulling out of the G7 and G12 as well as the WTO. We are just gong to have to understand that we are no longer the Superpower we were and adjust to a Multi-polar world and co-exist with China and Russia.
Trump has to extricate us from all foreign conflicts and concentrate on the U.S. and the problems we have here, mainly we have to get the Debt and Spending under control or some sort of collapse is going to happen.
Exactly what is Trump’s Foreign Policy, right now he is not in Office and at first blush his Cabinet is made up of War Hawks so which is it, Man of Peace or instrument of the Military Industrial Complex?
Putin does not want all of Ukraine, he is taking the Russian Regions and wants the rest of Ukraine as a buffer zone in the security architecture.
The main reason for the Ukraine War is Western interests in the estimated $10 Trillion in potential resources there and rare earth minerals, nothing more. That is also the reason the Neocons want to destroy Russia, for all of their Natural Resources which are vast and untapped.
BY the way you are the one that seems to have no real analytical skills in this.
Brilliant post you are a proper Goldwater conservative
Pedo Joe will be forced to swoop in and steal this cease fire from Trump before Jan 20
Nice keyword section.
Or what happens when FR caters to foreign and neocon TRASH... giving them run of the place and totally expoiting the forum.
They have done nothing but ruin this venue - and cost FR a fortune.
Great job guys!
Is a Goldwater conservative isolationist or what?
I think Trump will try first to get the EU to up their military spending; they spend less than 2%.
Secondly, increasing US energy production and energy exportation to reduce global oil and energy prices which would reduce Russian exports and further destabilize the ruble. Strengthening the US economy will also help to destabilize the ruble.
The US military is of dire need of reform. Getting rid of the DEI and global warming initiatives as well as obtaining an accurate audit of defense spending is essential before cuts are made.
Closure of some US world wide bases is could be a good idea but that has to be decided on a case by case basis.
We should also convince unaligned powers such as Brazil, India to drop out of BRICs
Putin is an idiot and he wants to reestablish Russia as a great power that would exert an inordinate amount of influence and control over Western Europe primarily through military intimidation and as their primary energy supplier.
