Trump vows ‘not to abandon’ Ukraine — but calls Biden admin’s approval of long-range missile strikes into Russia the ‘most dangerous thing’

President-elect Donald Trump promised in a wide-ranging Time magazine interview published Thursday that he will not “abandon” Ukraine amid its nearly three-year-long war — but called the Biden administration’s decision to green-light launching long-range missiles into Russia “the most dangerous thing.”

Trump, 78, has long sought peace between the nations but rarely discussed details on how he would negotiate an end to the conflict, before sitting down with Time as he was named the outlet’s “Person of the Year” for 2024.

“I want to reach an agreement, and the only way you’re going to reach an agreement is not to abandon,” the once and future president said after being pressed on his plans for Ukraine.

Trump also spoke at length about the despair he feels over the mounting casualties.

“The number of people dying is number one, not sustainable, and I’m talking on both sides,” the 45th and soon-to-be 47th president said. “It’s really an advantage to both sides to get this thing done.”

“Putin would have never invaded Ukraine if I were president for numerous reasons,” he explained. “Number one, they drove up the oil price. When they drove up the oil price, they made it a profit-making situation for him, the oil price should have been driven down. If it was driven down, you wouldn’t have had, it wouldn’t have started just for pure economic reasons.

“I mean, he made, he made a lot of money. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, because he’s also suffered, but they are moving forward,” he assessed. “You know, this is a war that’s been — this is a tragedy. This is death that’s far greater than anyone knows. When the real numbers come out, you’re going to see numbers that you’re not going to believe.”

Invasions, terror and war alliances with Iran, North Korea, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Taliban etc. just to name a couple.

My Son is a Battalion Commander in the US Army infantry - His fellow officers want nothing to do with Ukraine or Russia - all of you war mongers on both sides have no idea what Military families are going through with all of drum beating for “lower the boom”

Trump will do as he promised voters in his campaign. If he doesn’t, and supports neocon deep state interventions, he will ruin his next term.

It was wishful thinking if the Putin supporters really thought President Trump would allow a Putin-style Syrian collapse or Biden-style Afghanistan collapse to occur in Ukraine.

Amen EC. However, trying to be a “voice of reason” with Sodomite rear echelon keyboard warriors is an impossible task. Like the sodomites of old, they are driven to beat down the Russian door. Since they have no children, they are obliged to send our sons (and daughters). They feel confident because they’ve been so victorious here.

I’ve never met any officer or anyone in the military who wanted the military to join in someone’s major war, and especially with our number one threat, Russia.

When Russia is invading a non-NATO neighbor and has launched the bloodiest European war in Europe since WWII and we and our friends and allies are already effectively weakening the Russians without any loss of life from us, why would you think that American GIs would be arguing for sending them to that front?

Ukraine never had a chance to be a member of NATO. They don’t qualify.

If they are a dangerous thing, then Russian long range missile strikes into Ukraine must be a good thing?

Putin will not get what he wants from President Trump.

Nope, he'll get what he wants from Zelensky and Ukraine.
