The outlines of President-elect Donald Trump’s initial efforts to end the war in Ukraine from his visit to Europe last week are starting to emerge for the first time. The main takeaway: Europe would have to shoulder most of the burden of supporting Kyiv with troops to oversee a cease-fire and weapons to deter Russia.
At a meeting in Paris on Dec. 7, Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron that he doesn’t support Ukrainian membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, but that he wanted to see a strong, well-armed Ukraine emerge from any cessation of fighting, according to officials briefed on the meeting.

Can the EU establish a ZEEPER FOREIGN LEGION to enlist their “peacekeepers”?
This entire thing should have been 100% Europe’s “thing” all along. It is Europe that stands to gain or lose. It is Europe that has played games all along. yet it is Europe that has paid far LESS of the cost of NATO than they should (since it is and always has been primarily about protecting.... EUROPE from Russia/USSR.
This is the exact point Trump was trying to make during his first term that got him so much flack and hate...
Europe doesn’t solve problems. They create problems.
Rules of negotiation.
Never let someone else’s problems become your problem.
The question that many Americans and many people around the world have is, Will you abandon Ukraine?
I want to reach an agreement, and the only way you’re going to reach an agreement is not to abandon. You understand what that means, right?
Right. Well, no, tell me.
Well, I just said it. You can’t reach an agreement if you abandon, in my opinion. And I disagree with the whole thing, because it should have never happened. Putin would have never invaded Ukraine if I were president for numerous reasons. Number one, they drove up the oil price. When they drove up the oil price, they made it a profit-making situation for him, the oil price should have been driven down. If it was driven down, you wouldn’t have had it wouldn’t have started just for pure economic reasons. But when it hits $80, $85, and $90 a barrel. I mean, he made, he made a lot of money.

Exactly! Not our circus, not our monkeys. We’ve been shoveling billions into this money pit while American veterans are sleeping in the street.
“Exactly! Not our circus, not our monkeys. We’ve been shoveling billions into this money pit while American veterans are sleeping in the street.”
You’re arguing with the wrong one. Why would he care about our vets? No skin off his nose. Being a Ukrainian nationalist his goal is to get us into the war to save them.
It’s a disgrace. From the start this war was a giant money laundering operation for the globalists. Trump should just leave these two thug regimes to themselves.
They’ve been at each others throats longer than there has been a United States.
“They’ve been at each others throats longer than there has been a United States.”
Yes. Nothing new for Europe. They’ve been having these bloody ethnic wars for centuries; Serbs vs Croats, Romanians vs Hungarians, Greek vs Turks, and more. It’s a long bloody history where every nationality has a grievance against someone.
I remember years ago seeing video coming out Chechnya, 1989, or '94, I dunno , hardly matters but here's this raging firefight going on with Russian BMPs running around with squads of Russians on them, RPG rounds are whizzing about, mortar rounds are coming in and here's people waiting for the bus. They're going to work or shopping, there's people driving around in battered old cars like it's another day in the neighborhood and there's a raging fire fight going on. These people are nuts.
