After often remaining silent about her name being used in cultural disputes, Caitlin Clark has spoken up.
The WNBA phenom was named Time's Athlete of the Year after putting women's basketball and women's sports on the map.
After she entered the league, there were several comments made about her being White.
WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson said Clark being White was a "huge thing" when it came to Clark's popularity. Angel Reese even said there had been "a lot of racism" from Iowa and Indiana Fever fans. Connecticut Sun player DiJonai Carrington, who poked Clark in the eye during a Connecticut playoff win over the Fever, previously criticized Clark for not doing more to call out racism.
In her discussion with Time, Clark seemed to agree with Wilson to an extent.
"I want to say I’ve earned every single thing, but as a White person, there is privilege," Clark told Time. "A lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been Black players. This league has kind of been built on them.

This statement is right in line with other lefty statements of hers that I’ve read on this board. So I assume this is who she is. Will her conservative fans make excuses and say she had to do it?
I will say the standard lefty is saying something really racist when they say “white priviledge”. They really don’t believe others races can compete on merit.
That’s why math is racist.
Does that means the WNBA is racist? /sarcasm /rhetorical question
What a mistake. Now all she’ll hear is that she only ‘made it’ because she’s white and she’ll have to shut up and agree. It only gives them ammunition.
If a black player accomplished the exact same thing they’d be in the same position. I get that the league is largely black and she has to get along but I’d have seriously advised against this because it’ll have the opposite effect. They’ll just use this against her.
The WNBA is bankrupt. It has lost hundreds of millions of dollars. Black women have not drawn fans. The game is boring. Hulking blacks lesbians brazenly bullied Clark for being white. It’s a shame that she felt the need to throw them a bone.
She can try, but those racist Black players aren’t going to like her no matter how hard she tries.
If people want to watch attractive people how do you explain The View?
“you moron“
You misspelled asshole.
Bird busted their balls, called them second place and laughed in their faces. Then he’d put the cherry on top by doing something like sinking one from BEHIND the backboard. Or one of his no-look passes. Or passing the hall to himself. Or passing the hall to a teammate right thru the splayed legs of a defender…
You’re not an athlete I’m assuming. She is female. You can tell by the way she moves.
“A lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been Black players. This league has kind of been built on them.”
Oh stop it! The WNBA has been ALL black players with the exception of a few white tokens. Clark is an anomaly because she is a really good white player, which brought more interest to the sport. Now she is making excuses for her whiteness, a Rachel Dolezal wannabe.
Yeah the League has been so “built” this was the Championship Parade....

What about the people who buy seats for those games?
What about the people who buy seats for those games?
Both of them?
LOL
This is just a blip that will be forgotten tomorrow.
There’s a grey zone between acknowledging the other players’ accomplishment and expressing the racial “guilt” that gets people bent out of shape.
No need for all the knee-jerk outrage.
Ha! The results of the Women’s National Black Association.
I see your point. Yes, she’d leave if she were _that_ broken up over it.😄
Cultural appropriation by them, it appears.
I wonder how long before they won’t play because they don’t want to entertain the white slave masters. /sarc
Privilege is one thing, but without talent it won’t get you into the WBA.
