Nice! But I have to admit, personally I prefer this version. ;-)

Isn’t that a Protestant hymn, thus would be heretical or hetrodox in a RC church?

Beautiful performance, both voice and orchestral, but where were the people? This is G_d's Chuch, a place for gathering and worship, but there were no pews full of those to hear. there were no pews at all!

Very strange to me. Was this a rehearsal?

Beautiful and inspiring. Those that to not acknowledge their capacity and need for mysticism ( not found in any other species), who embrace various forms of nihilism, suffer and often become mentally ill. Even the French realized it was a necessity to rebuild Notre Dame.

Beautiful!

I'm a bit surprised they had drones flying inside the cathedral during the performance due to safety concerns. Perhaps this was a dress rehearsal?

Those were some sparkly baubles around her neck.

Not a Catholic song.

EVERYthing about this is so beautiful .... this singer, her God given voice, her outfit/jewelry, the accompaniment, the Cathedral.... Can you imagine hearing this, in person?

Ethereal.

I had chills when I watched this LIVE and every time I’ve listened, since.

Thank you for posting a thread. So deserving.

It is not forbidden to be sung in a Catholic Church just by virtue of it's being of Protestant origin. It does seem odd that a Protestant hymn would be sung in a Catholic Cathedral on such a momentous occasion given the abundant patrimony of Catholic hymnody, but maybe there is some notion of ecumenism behind the selection. There is nothing strictly heretical about the lyrics from a Catholic standpoint.

I was afraid they’d rebuild Notre Dame into a drag queen strip club.

Same here. I am pleasantly surprised the French atheists allowed this to happen. Apparently there is a thing called “Cultural Christianity” which they value. It is good to know.

European churches don’t have pews.

There is a vast body of French sacred music. I wonder why it wasn't played.
