I think we would be fortunate to have Syria turn into another Lebanon, think of a caliphate in the middle of the Lavant.

Now the “rebels” have an entire country and all its resources to turn on their enemies in Israel and the West.

Assad was a secular dictator but he was allowing Hezbollah to use his territory. And Hezbollah launched their attacks against Israel

They will go after Russia next. Easier to get to and the Muslim populations in southern Russia couple also rise up.

We need to keep in mind that this Islamist uprising is part of creating a global Islamist caliphate. At this point they will consolidate and then take more land. Next up in the fight are going to be the Kurds, the goal being to take control of the Syria/Turkey boarder region.
