The Nusra Front battled ISIS and eliminated much of its competition among the Syrian armed opposition to Assad. The Nusra Front was only a minor player in knocking back ISIS. Locally, it most certainly gained the upper hand in and around Idlib, but outside of Idlib, until this offensive, it was not much of a factor. My question is, IF al-Jolani is "pragmatic" as he talks, can he stay alive?
