Even worse and more cynically, they teach basic math and reading in a way that confuses and sets back average students.
They make simple math complicated intentionally. Converting fractions, and like, used to be a pretty simple process. I think this started with the idea of “new math”. They want you dumb, stupid, and compliant these days.
