The high interest rates are for the same reason they were high in the 1980s here -- because the economic boom is contributing to inflation.

Do economic booms contribute to high inflation?
Is that why Venezuela has high inflation, their economy is booming?

There can be several factors contributing to inflation.

A booming economy is one.

Printing money, like we did in the '70s and have done in recent years and like Venezuela has done, is another.

The Green agenda is also has driven inflation rates up here and Europe.
