Animals are not human children. For one, we eat dead animals but we never eat dead humans. Additionally, God gave us dominion over animals.

Anyone equating an animal to a human child is sick in the head.

I feel the same. How people go crazy when an animal is hurt or killed but shrug it off when similar is done to a person.

That is a bit sanctimonious. No, animals do not have human rights. But, domestic ones are in our power and therefore, we owe them protection. Like we protect our own young.
