I read some article a few years ago, interesting.
Said the remake was written , specifically, to show the Chi Comms invading the USA. So the leftlsts Hollywood power types threw a fit. Made them change the plot and made the invaders..North Koreans or something?
Even though China is the only country in the world now with enough shipping, money and power to attempt it.
Shows the influence of Chinese communists in Hollywood.
