I am the first to admit that many times it does almost require an inordinate amount of strength, but things seem to be getting worse. The people with carts in the middle of the aisle blocking everyone. The person with cart who stops on a dime immediately in front of you. It can be challenging.
Serenity now!
I will admit to Walmart shopping when one-stop is called for. The shoppers there tend to be of two varieties, those who will say “Sorry” for the slightest thing — in central PA we have a lot of extremely polite folk — and the aggressive ones who are larger than I am (that is to say, >100 pounds, >60 inches high). The aggressors see me coming from a distance, but they still make me jump out of their way, no matter what. I always take an equalizer shopping cart, but it doesn’t always help. I’m supposed to move like a bird in traffic. I can, but...they just seem so entitled by their size. Not to mention the ones in the motorized carts :( Largo al cartotum! Make way!
Not happy about the gabfests in the wide aisles, either.
Still, Walmart saves me the trouble of all-day downtown shopping between Lewisburg and Lancaster, my usual turf. And their paint and hardware prices beat all.
I hate the scooters all over the place. I know some people truly need them but I feel some people just are lazy.
