If anyone thinks that what FDR did in recalling his long time mistress, JUST TAKE A LOOK AT ELEANOR ROOSEVELT.
The woman was twisted on the inside and downright ugly on the outside.
Just like most Dimoncrats in today’s world.
NOT a fan of FDR, my family was blinded by him, but NOT me.
FDR, Obummer, Clinton, Biden, Carter...
Hard to find one who REALLY PUT AMERICA FIRST...LIKE PRESIDENT ELECT DONALD J TRUMP
And then he died and went to hell sad.
And then he died and went to hell sad.
“the Red Army was already there and there was nothing we could do about Eastern Europe or Poland”
FDR’s team of advisors was infiltrated with Communist spies and fellow travelers.
That was his biggest weakness of all.
While that was true, that still doesn’t change the situation with the red army and how powerful it was compared to ours we couldn’t have beaten them after World War II.
Sun Tzu applies here—we might have been able to outsmart them—but the traitors within FDR’s circle made that impossible.
FDR thought that with his personality and power of persuasion he could win over Joe Stalin and get him to agree to anything. He was wrong, Stalin had his plans and was going to do as he pleased regardless. He knew once he was in Eastern Europe it was over and that the West would do nothing.
Same thing applies to present day with Trump, he thinks he can do deal and get Putin to do as he wants, the reality is he can’t. Putin now holds all the cards and Ukraine will be settled on his terms alone. Although Trump may try and spin it as a win, it won’t be.
In my opinion the only President who could have dealt with Putin was Richard Nixon. His understanding of the Russian mindset was second to none.
The war could well be over before Trump gets in office as Russia is advancing their timetable because of the missile threats from us and the UK.
I read the autobiography a few years ago of Admiral William Standley who the Ambassador to the Soviet Union during the middle part of W.W. II. Should be required reading for the State Department or anyone who wants to understand the Russians and how to deal with them. Admiral Standley was probably the only Ambassador who dealt successfully with the Soviets and understood them and never could get this across to the State Department or FDR. Nothing has changed today in that regard.
