Itaconate can be found in the crust of rye and wheat breads, strangely. It is also used in industry for a variety of purposes.
It apparently reduces inflammation that leads to heart disease.

Alright, I’m safe. Wheat toast, jam and butter, and don’t forget the coffee.

Itaconate can be found in the crust of rye and wheat breads...I was wondering if it could be found in a natural state... Very cool - thanks for sharing Conservative Mind.

I would bet my allowance (if I got an allowance) that this story is an attempt to create a story where one did not exist (at least to any significant degree.)
My Mom and Stepdad were different parties for over a decade (she GOP, he Dem), and they always joked about cancelling each other's vote. We "kids" never, ever held politics against a fam member.
Then, over a decade later, my new DW and I were of different political persuasions. Sure enough, we joked about cancelling each other's vote.
We never, ever held political opinion interfere with our marriage.
And, in later years, my SD (on his own, with no fam nudging) found himself in the GOP, and strongly so.
And, surely enough, a decade on, my DW found herself voting and registering GOP. I never criticized or suggested the change.
Fake news versus REALITY.

Colchicine, a cheap, off-patent medication originally used for gout, also reduces inflammation in the arteries.
