Alejandro was born in Havana, Cuba, the son of Anita and Charles Mayorkas, who owned and operated a steel wool factory. His father was born in La Habana, Cuba, to a father of Turkish Jewish background and a Polish Jewish mother. His mother was born in Bucharest, Romania, also to a Jewish family, and left for Cuba in the 1940s, because of the Nazis. His family moved to Miami, Florida, U.S., in 1960, because of the Castro regime, and later to Los Angeles, California.

From: https://ethnicelebs.com/alejandro-mayorkas He's not even Latino, and they kept referring to him as a 'person of color'.

Not “latino”, whatever that is, not “hispanic”, whatever that is, just a guy of mixed Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jewish ethnicities, whatever those are.

Just labels. The sob is a white European with maybe a smidge of Anatolian DNA.

He’s less Iberian than I am.
