I figure—be suspicious of any company or group that spends lots of money on TV commercials.
I’ve noted before the results I get from DDG are always the exact same I get from Google.
Have you tried searching Sean Duffy on Brave?
It comes up with pretty much the same sites.
Duck Duck Go is just Google under the hood. If you want a search engine the Leftist blob does not control, try Yandex.
Do this experiment. Pick a topic that’s political. Do a google search and see what articles from what sources pop up. Now do the same with Yandex. Your jaw will drop when you see how much Google manipulates the results.
Use tusksearch.com or freespoke.com
Anyone have any data on search results from the Brave search engine, or from Presearch? The latter is my preferred search engine.
Been using DDG since the first day they came on the scene...
If I am going to search for anything that “could” be influenced by this kind of political-orientation crap, I have been using Right Dao for a few years and like it very much...
“Duck Duck Go is Google.”
Yes. DDG announced a few years ago they were Google without the trackers.
I searched your phrase
Trump’s pick for Secretary of Transportation
And had no problem

I tried that same entry on StartPage and got similar results - 16 straight lefty sites, then a mixed ag of 8 more that were three sites I never heard of mixed with Lefty sites. I am appalled.
Google: KQED (NPR); The Guardian; Newsweek; San Francisco Chronicle; Al Jazzera; NBC News; Rolling Stone; NPR; New York Times; NBC Los Angeles. The next ten are leftist or liberal as well. No surprise.
Brave: (All Sides): NBC Los Angeles; New York Times; Fox News; The Guardian; Reuters; Advocate; Rolling Stone; Slate; PBS News; The Guardian. Nine liberal/leftist sources to one moderate/conservative. The next ten are eight liberal or leftist to two moderate or conservative (Fox and Sky News).
Tusk: (Center): NBC Los Angeles; New York Times; Fox News; The Guardian; Advocate; Reuters; Rolling Stone; Slate; PBS; The Guardian. Just one moderate or conservative source in the "Center" search. The next ten shows eight liberal or leftist vs. two moderate to conservative.
Giburu: Advertises as a conservative search engine. Top ten results: The Guardian, Rolling Stone; New York Times; Forbes; San Francisco Chronicle; Los Angeles Daily News; USA Today; NBC News; LAist; NBC Los Angeles; Inside Climate News.
Granted that if you do a Right search on Tusk and Brave, you will get better results. However, if you use the All Sides or Center function, you get Google type results.
