There is 0 functional difference between a Jag, a GM, a Bently or a Kia..

It is ALL about the Image and Status symbol aspect.

I predict the only way out of this, if it goes all bud light, as I suspect. Is for Jaguar to get sold off to a new host and it they completely revive it as “100% upscale traditional British”

That is due to the administrative state. Car companies before the 70’s made a wide variety of vehicles.

There is 0 functional difference between a Jag, a GM, a Bentley or a Kia.

The image and status symbol aspect is the dominant factor but the drivetrains have a significant functional difference.

Most high end luxury cars are rear-wheel drive (RWD) whereas many GM and Kia models are built with front-wheel drive (FWD), all-wheel drive (AWD), and some with four-wheel drive (FWD).

Rear hatches, sliding doors, truck beds, etc. are also significant functional differences.
