95% of the global CO2 comes from nature, only 5% is man made.

"...Unlike oceans, lakes release considerable amounts of CO₂ into the atmosphere..." Without even researching this, this is agenda driven, sloppy or ignorant...or all three together.
I have zero doubt that outgassing of CO2 from the ocean during warming trends is exponentially greater than the outgassing of CO2 from Lake Geneva, or any other lake.
Now. If they tell me they made a mistake and that Lake Geneva (or any other lake) emits more CO2 in a given time frame PER VOLUME OF WATER I would be willing to investigate it.
But Lake Geneva (or any other lake) cannot and does not emit more CO2 overall in a given time frame than all the oceans.

Wait, what?
They’re still learning new things about our atmosphere? I thought it was settled science?

I just read one account that says the oceans outgas more than 2 Petagrams of CO2 annually, where Lake Geneva emits the same as a large city.
Sloppy writing, probably, or deliberately as part of an agenda-driven fake narrative.
Probably both.

What a bunch of idiots. It would actually be hilarious if they didn’t want to use their Climate Alarmism as a tool to subjugate us.

The right way to combat global warming Nobody in their right mind would want to fight global warming. I'll take life in the Modern Warm Period any day over life in one of the cooling periods.
What has to be fought is the warmageddon cult and their control-freak energy policies!

It would probably be better to put a protective coating or covering on all exposed rock to protect it against erosion.
We actually need lakes and streams to maintain biodiversity, and also to drain rainwater safely into the oceans to keep it out of the hands of farmers who want to irrigate crops. This is especially important in California.
Exposed rock we don’t need.
