When they made mention of what they’re planning on doing to Starship on the way back down, It makes me wonder if any part of it’s going to reach the ground.

Lift off was flawless, boost rocket landed in water instead of catch tower. Crew rocket in orbit. Amazing what SpaceEx can do and NASA can’t.
They removed quite a bit of the heat shield tiles and reentry angle is going to be steeper. The thought is to stress the ship to its limits so they can capture the data via telemetry. This will aid the engineers immensely for future missions/modifications.
