Huge Genesis fan- as you know. This album had its moments for me but overall i felt Gabriel’s work with Genesis was to constipated at times.
With Thanksgiving around the corner there is a bootleg from 40 or so years ago on Thanksgiving night of Genesis live at the Felt Forum in NYC available on youtube- as just about all bootlegs are...

I felt Gabriel’s work with Genesis was his worst. It just wasn’t a fit.

I never saw Genesis but I did see Peter Gabriel as a solo artist.

Peter Gabriel leaving Genesis lead to commercial success for both Gabriel and Genesis.

Where’s the beef!?
This was all talk talk talk.
I wanted to hear some of this unknown album.

I loved "Carpet Crawlers", "Riding the Scree" and "It" and still do, but I can't remember most of "Lamb" - some of what I do remember, like the Lamia song, makes me cringe. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved this album when I was a kid and still do, but the album had a lot of stuff in it.
"Selling England" is still my favorite Genesis album - shorter and much tighter.

I do think Gabriel left at the right time, he could never top The Lamb.
And both A Trick Of Tail and Gabriel’s first solo album were both excellent, so it was a win-win all around.

Gabriel puts on a great live show. I’ve only seen two tours, but some of the full concerts on YouTube I didn’t see are even better.

And a word of advice, do not drop acid and listen to “The Waiting Room”.

But it segues perfectly into, probably my favorite track on the album, “Anyway”.

Saw Hackett last year perform the entire Foxtrot album. Hope I can make it when he does “The Lamb”.

I love the “Lamia”, Tony’s piano part in the middle is so hauntingly beautiful.

Hey, I don’t even have a “favorite album.” Not even sure how to acquire one. Is it like a playlist?
