Maybe, but it's a hard , cold fact of life that there is going to be a lot of reconstruction in the Ukraine and somebody is going to have to foot the bill.

Nowhere in my post did I say anything about the American taxpayer footing the bill for the post war reconstruction of the Ukraine

The post war economic climate is going to very grim in Ukraine.

Aside from the obvious devastation, both in human and infrasture terms, it's a fact that the Ukraine effectively has no real economy in conventional terms.

In order to keep the war going, the NATO countries have been pumping direct cash aid into the country to pay everything from pensioners retirement benefits, welfare payments, government workers salaries, soldiers pay to the military plus a bunch of other hard cash funding to buy things to keep the lights on, the country fed and the economy going .

They get away with this because the recent pre war Ukraine GDP was only about 75 billion dollars and the US and NATO have been pumping in close to that in direct cash aid.

This has produced a false sense of normalcy in much of the Ukraine that simply does not exist.

This is kind of unprecedented in modern history and when this funding is suddenly removed cold turkey, it could be very hard on the Ukraine.

I think Trump has the right approach to Ukraine reconstruction - private American investments in the reconstruction of Ukraine that help provide markets for American produced goods and access to Ukrainian raw materials and natural resources to our mutual benefit.

This is opposed to the Biden Democrat approach of sending in a bunch of foreign Black Rock style carpet baggers to buy up the distressed Ukraine assets on the cheap and then using American taxpayer money to fund their reconstruction to provide massive profits to the Progressive cronies who engineered and drove the war in the first place.
