The equation we're looking at, I believe is somewhat parallel to the Nixon period. There was no way that a Democrat, a softy on Communists, was going to normalize relations with Mao. It took a determined anti-communist fighter who was known be strict and tough on those people to come and do what what had to be done to establish normal relations so I think it's something similar is in prospect here.

Doctorow, at the 5 minute mark, makes the prediction that I have made. Trump, like he did with Little Rocket Man and like Nixon did with China, will reach out to the Iranians and settle Bibi’s crap shows in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran.
We can’t beat the Iranians without a war double the size of Iraq and Afghanistan. Trump will do what we elected him to do, bring peace.
Trump, as a minimum, will reinstall devastating sanctions with the threat of unleashing Israel. Hopefully that will cause a 1989 like change in Iran.
