Get rid of the standing army. Standing armies are not the friend of liberty.

In his 1783 “Sentiments on a Peace Establishment,” Washington acknowledged that a large standing army in peacetime can be dangerous to a country’s liberties. However, he also believed that a small, well-organized force under certain circumstances could be necessary and safe.

Back in colonial days, the British Army’s main focus was enforcing the will of the British government.
The “standing army” the founders warned us of was not today’s military.
They warned against our armed federal “law enforcement”.
