I'm struggling with that one too. Don't dare criticize Trump appointments though. He is as infallible as ever in personnel selection. He had five secretaries of defense in his last term with three lasting only 8, 21 and 72 days respectively.

Those in support of the nomination offer Austin as the example of competition. Set the bar low enough and my Aunt Fanny would look good as Sec Def. No, I am doubtful that Hegseth will do well. Being a firebrand, if that is what he is, is a weak recommendation for leadership and experience.

Yup, already invaded by the equivalent of at least 2,000 divisions and their support troops.

"The US Military Is In A Death Spiral"

It was. The American People corrected this on November 5.

Our new SecDef is a warrior, that’s great news. Increase the training tempo, get those lieutenants time to learn how to be platoon leaders.

I look back at my development: in less than 6 months, I went from a bumbling butterbar to a young officer adept and professional in tactical evaluations. Most of that development came thanks to my Platoon Sergeants, all of whom had at least one tour in Vietnam. The rest of it was from being there, learning what I could get away with, and what not to do.

You have to let those lieutenants step on their Johnsons without fear, that’s how I learned, drill into them the definition of a leader, who takes personal responsibility for everything his unit does or FAILS TO DO.

"Didn’t they can this dude already?"

They did, but he wasn't the only one. You can't tell me some of the other cadets didn't know his proclivities, and yet, nobody threw him out a window.

Yes, hard to believe, that others didn’t know about it.

Trump is wasting time trying to sort out the DEI fluffiness. There are far too many general officers. Just compare numbers of generals to troops today vs WW2. The solution should be to retire all general officers. Only a few need to be replaced, an the can be replaced by colonels or, better lieutenant colonels.

Just pretend the Pentagon was nuked by the Iranians, retire everyone there, and set up a new, tiny HQ in Kansas or Nebraska.

“We cannot be invaded. Our homeland is secure.”

We’ve BEEN INVADED, over the past 4yrs, by 15-20 million criminal, illegal, alien invaders — they’re real and here.

I remember reading that the original argument for getting the funding for the Pentagon. After the war it was to be a records warehouse managed by US Archives.

The guy is an idiot.

The military is on the downslide due to affirmative action and social engineering but there is no military on earth superior or equal to it.

No other military can equal it in conducting operations, from Naval, to Army, Marine missions, or Air Force, small unit operations, engineering feats, invasions, logistics, Special Operations, fighters, bombers, maintenance of equipment and aircraft whatever the long list, we excel at it.

We need to get a grip on things and stop the bleeding and dilution of its quality but there isn’t a leader on earth that would not trade his force for the quality of the American military, which is why no one wants to meet it on the battle field, or see it pointed at them.

“Standing armies are not the friend of liberty”

Back in colonial days, the British Army’s main focus was enforcing the will of the British government.

The “standing army” the founders warned us of was not today’s military.

They warned against our armed federal “law enforcement”.

Your statement about the US Army proves you are no better than the brainwashed, egotistical morons on the left. Seriously, was the Army just supposed to spontaneously arrive at the border and start patrolling it, with the current DEI BS, without orders?
“Oh, hey Colonel, me and some squad leaders thought we’d take some hummers and light arms with the dudes. Close that MF border down for the weekend and then grab a few beers”
Your entire knowledge and understanding of what the US Army is wouldn’t fill the period at the end of this sentence.

Bunch of effing, low info, no energy twats blaming the Army instead of the vapid, weak willed, corrupt as hell, POS politicians and commie media for the state of affairs in 5he military.

Are any of you geniuses pissing on the Army even vets or have active skin in this game?

The soldiers didn’t ask for any of this woke effeminate nonsense to be shoved down their throats. It’s the civilians who have corrupted and who bare the fault, not he grunts. It’s YOU who failed.

The question is, CAN the military get up.off the ‘rock bottom’ before it’s to late? They’d have to RIF a whole lot of ‘perfumed princes’ and other woke-ass people who don’t belong in our military.

From just starting Pete Hegseth’s book, I can conclude he plans to clean house. He has said that he is in touch with many recently retired officers and NCOs who feel like they had been forced out because they resisted the Woke movement in the military. He might draw from that pool. I don’t know how that works.
