Pete Hegseth will be the first Secretary of Defense of Norwegian descent. That should be celebrated like Kamala being the first Vice President of Jamaican and South Indian descent.

I wasn't sure of his ethnic origins so I checked out Geni which has a profile for him with his family tree. Geni also informed me that I'm his 18th cousin once removed. I will take that with a grain of salt (I have no Norwegian ancestry that I know of).
