The earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old. We only have semi-accurate weather records since the late 19th century. It’s been a lot warmer, it’s been a lot colder, and it will be a lot more of both in the future.

Yup.
Think back to 65 million years ago when the large asteroid hit the earth in present day Mexico and wiped out the dinosaurs.
Temperatures were like hell then.
