Oh I don’t think his reports on the battlefield are pro-Russian. He sounds a tad pro-Russian when he veers off into geopolitics. He seems to me to be from Belarus, although I don’t know where is currently living. If, indeed, he is from Belarus, he may need to tinge his assessments in that area with a bit of pro-Russian spin, if you get my drift.
While he is very careful about his battlefield assessments, when it comes to geopolitics he can get off in the weeds and repeat rumors which are shaky or even untrue — or occasionally laughable, like repeating that silly post on X/Twitter about Rutte:

In his defense, it was posted on FR and had lots of Freepers going, too:
“Rutte says “if Trump surrenders Ukraine to Putin he will personally expel the US from NATO”.”

I wholeheartedly agree this war is a tragic waste of human life and resources. I trust Trump to do his best, but the reality is that achieving a workable and lasting peace will be much more difficult now than when Trump first said he could stop the war in one day. Much has changed since that day, more blood spilled, and the “dynamic” (to use Dima’s new fave word) of the battle space is very different. We need to be prepared to have patience with him on this.
