To your point, the Majority Leader will absolutely need to have these "must have" abilities (in order):
The Majority Leader will have to manage the schedule, the "amendment Tree" (or whatever they call it), and prioritize what makes it to the floor. Do not let Chuck Schumer manipulate the schedule or the votes.
The new Majority Leader must NOT succumb to ego trips or false vanity plays by Schumer or Pelosi. The Majority Leader must understand that there will ALWAYS be an ulterior motive to whatever Schumer promises, dangles, or concedes at any given time. Don't fall for it.
The goal of the Senate is to move bills passed by the House and to get President-Elect Trump's nominees to the Cabinet confirmed ASAP. It is NOT to take what Trump offers and use it as leverage with the Democrats for some back-room Senate deal-making. That is NOT why the American people gave you a 4-seat majority.
The filibuster (cloture) can by bypassed only three times per year, once each for a spending bill, a revenue bill, and a debt limit bill. Use them wisely.
Remember that Schumer promised McConnell that he would not use the reconciliation process to pass the climate change and ObamaCare revisions bill if McConnell would support the CHIPS act. McConnell agreed and supported the CHIPS Act. Later that same day, Schumer announced his deal with Joe Manchin on the Inflation Reduction Act that included climate change and ObamaCare spending. The Inflation Reduction Act was passed without Republican support by using the reconciliation process.
I heard this is a secret vote? This is disgusting if true. The vote needs to be open and visible to all voters. We need the light to shine on these bastards.
