Of the 3 that are apparently running, Rick Scott is the best by far.

First and foremost I want someone who will work well with Mike Johnson & Donald Trump to enact new laws to solve the big problems we are facing in America. For starts, no new spending or raising the Debt Ceiling without getting the swamp drained.

I know, but he would be entertaining. I like JD Vance for being speaker. It would be epic.

Whoever it is, they will have to contend with the 50+ GOP personalities. I think Scott can do a better job of that then Paul.

To your point, the Majority Leader will absolutely need to have these "must have" abilities (in order):

  1. Must have strong Administrative and Organization skills.

The Majority Leader will have to manage the schedule, the "amendment Tree" (or whatever they call it), and prioritize what makes it to the floor. Do not let Chuck Schumer manipulate the schedule or the votes.

  2. Must be savvy enough to know when Schumer is playing him.

The new Majority Leader must NOT succumb to ego trips or false vanity plays by Schumer or Pelosi. The Majority Leader must understand that there will ALWAYS be an ulterior motive to whatever Schumer promises, dangles, or concedes at any given time. Don't fall for it.

  3. Maintain party discipline.

The goal of the Senate is to move bills passed by the House and to get President-Elect Trump's nominees to the Cabinet confirmed ASAP. It is NOT to take what Trump offers and use it as leverage with the Democrats for some back-room Senate deal-making. That is NOT why the American people gave you a 4-seat majority.

  4. Manage the reconciliation process.

The filibuster (cloture) can by bypassed only three times per year, once each for a spending bill, a revenue bill, and a debt limit bill. Use them wisely.

Remember that Schumer promised McConnell that he would not use the reconciliation process to pass the climate change and ObamaCare revisions bill if McConnell would support the CHIPS act. McConnell agreed and supported the CHIPS Act. Later that same day, Schumer announced his deal with Joe Manchin on the Inflation Reduction Act that included climate change and ObamaCare spending. The Inflation Reduction Act was passed without Republican support by using the reconciliation process.

  5. Get President-Elect Trump's Judicial nominees confirmed at all levels of the Judiciary. Do not let the Democrats block the nominees in committee. Do not let the RINOs block the nominees in personal power plays.

I heard this is a secret vote? This is disgusting if true. The vote needs to be open and visible to all voters. We need the light to shine on these bastards.

I like Rand my own self, but Rand has never endorsed Trump for President. Kinda rules him out of any cabinet or senior legislative position, IMO.

Rick Scott for my money.

Kennedy would be a hoot, that is for sure; and he knows his law. When he retires, I hope he writes books, articles, novels. Masterful turns of phrase at every pressure point!
