Yes, Trump did, but that doesn’t make it a good idea. The Founding Fathers system of checks and balances in the Constitution is a network of protection of the individual. The Popular Vote would be the opposite, protect the majority at the expense of the current minority rights. State elections would have no meaning, there would be one central election. Cheating would get even easier. It also moves away from voter and minority rights and toward socialist style central govt, which just needs 50.01% to rule, with no rights for up to 49.99%.

By the way, there are still a lot of California and urban counties that have not reported yet.
I think Trump still wins the Popular Vote, but the certified total will be less than 5 million.
