Posts are getting pulled left and right here. What is up? The FR doesn't need the participation and traffic anymore?
Censoring? Heavy handedness is not going to go over well at a critical time when you need traffic and donations.

There is no monetized “traffic” on FR. It’s completely dependent on member donations.
Otherwise you’d see banner ads plastered everywhere on the webpages.

I'm guessing more lefts are being pulled than rights, but I've only been here since '98, so maybe I don't yet have a sure grasp of the proceedings.

I’ve noticed that, too.
I’ve commented on several posted articles the past couple weeks and, when I click “Post,” I find it’s been zotted. Hard to figure out because the articles were genuine news and not controversial nor dupes.
Can’t be that bad, they are still letting that freak post her daily top 40 play list. Good God, what a waste of bandwidth. Next she’ll be on to her daily Potpourri.

FR is aging out. Many threads get 1/30th of the traffic they used to get. It’s almost intentional, but the upside is that it is free of the garbage of so many other sites. It really should be more popular because it is so streamlined.
FR has always been consistent about detecting outside revenue generating attempts and removing them. FR also doesn’t like to serve as a promotion avenue for other sites trying to get more traffic directly.

Yes, legitimate posts and dedicated activism. Something new is up. There has been something changed, a new mod or policy or something... But as a webmaster and domain owner I know it is not good for business whatever it is.

Well of course, that is a standard protocol and just. But posts that are NOT spam posts are being pulled and I tried real hard to come up with a just reason and could not think of any.
