Given both the Iowa Poll and Selzer's track records combined with the sheer and utter implausibility of the final poll's results, this pretty much has to have been deliberate.

My working theory is that it was to primarily to provide plausible deniability to a steal attempt- not the presidential race (though they of course wouldn't mind trying to depress Trump voter turnout), but the District 1 House race. Miller-Meeks (R) is up only .2%...
