...sources have told the outlet...

More of the same BS. Unamed sources isn't good enough.
If names can't be given then no trust should be given to the reporting.

The way to make this not look like a major win for Russia is to tie the Ukraine peace deal to Russia ceasing it's support for Iran's nuclear weapons and missile programs.

The Israeli IAF has done a great service to the US and the rest of the world by destroying much of Iran's missile and drone production capacity.

Russia was relying heavily on this Iranian missile and drone production to supply the Russian military in Ukraine which is already putting pressure on Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

So Russia is in a worse negotiatingn position than they were a few days ago.

The Ukrainian peace agreement will probably look a lot like the original one that Biden and Boris Johnson convinced Zelensky to walk away from right at the start of this catastrophe.

An autonomous Donbas region for ethnic Russians as a “buffer zone” ,, a demilitarized, neutral Ukraine and a commitment for the Ukraine to not join NATO - ie the general term of the Minsk accords agreed upon some 35 years ago.

Perhaps a recognition that Crimea is officially a part of Russia in return for a Russian withdrawal from the Ukraine.

Trump will (rightly) blame the Biden Administration weakness and Biden's breaking of international agreements and inviting the Russians to invade for starting the war in the first place and the Trump Administrations efforts to stop the war as a sign of American strength.

I explained this on the spam thread. These ‘ideas’ are NOT coming from Trump’s people (at least not his inner core, as they understand Russian concerns about ‘trusting’ the West), but rather the CURRENT Administration, who are trying to project a ‘solution’ that gets them off the hook for their horrific war.

Russia, wants a COMPREHENSIVE conclusion to the war (as they have said over and over), and that means new borders, international recognition of those borders, and a way to ensure Ukraine never enters NATO, which the West simply cannot provide, given their track record. It will take a neutral third party, maybe China or India to essentially occupy what’s left of Ukraine to ensure peace, or Russia will likely go right to the Polish border, and then work out a deal with Europe to partition Ukraine.
