Trump’s ‘plan to end Ukraine war’ emerges after Zelensky holds ‘great’ call with Don – and Putin launches drone blitz

DONALD Trump's reported plan to end the Ukraine war has emerged after Zelensky held a call congratulating the president-elect.

-snip-

Trump would freeze the conflict in place and establish a demilitarised zone down the locked front line, the Wall Street Journal now reports.

Kyiv would not join Nato for 20 years, but the US would continue to arm Ukraine to the teeth to prevent Putin from invading again.

Who would police the demilitarised zone remains unclear, according to the sources, but it wouldn't involve American troops or an international body.

-snip-

"We are not sending American men and women to uphold peace in Ukraine. And we are not paying for it. Get the Poles, Germans, British and French to do it."

It remains unclear if the Ukrainians approve of the plan - but Zelenksy has already spoken to the president-elect.

Zelensky wrote on Telegram that he had an "excellent" call with Trump and congratulated him on his landslide victory.

The Ukrainian said: "Strong and unwavering US leadership is vital for the world and for a just peace."

Trump's man in Ukraine said the newly elected Republican will tell Vlad to "stop the war", the Independent reports.

Kurt Volkner, who was Trump's special representative for Ukraine between 2017 and 2019, said Trump will immediately push for peace.

He said Trump is "going to make a phone call to Putin as quickly as possible and tell Putin that he needs to stop the war, that the fighting has to stop, and that there has to be peace."

President Trump #47 had best check with the Russians, first.

Frozen conflict = Putin lost.

Now you're selling your BS forward, like Free Republic's other Wimpy on the Ukraine, the GoodGood neocon.

You gotta GET the frozen conflict, first.

Even that dumb@ss Bronco Bama knew that The Putin and The Russia have escalatory dominance in their own backyard.

Were you dropped on your head over the weekend?

This is like the third bizarre position you've staked out on the Special Military Operation in almost as many days.

The US has to negotiate with the Russians - not with ourselves.

And Russia will trade currently occupied Ukrainian territory for sanctions relief after the conflict is frozen.

Another bizarre position.

Kyiv would not join Nato for 20 years, but the US would continue to arm Ukraine to the teeth to prevent Putin from invading again.

There is ZERO chance of Russia allowing another NATO buildup on its borders. Zip. Zero. Nada. Nyet.

Russia can and, ultimately will, take out the entire electric grid in Ukraine to end the war if necessary.

Kiev is already facing eight to 20 hour blackouts in this winter. That is not sustainable.

Trump will cut military funding off for the war and Zelensky will be forced to agree to any deal he can get, one that wil save his life and allow him to escape to one of his mansions.

Trump will dictate the terms of the peace deal, not Putin. Don’t bet against President Trump, Ivan.

I don’t see us re-arming the Ukraine. More like a formal treaty with new boundaries giving Do bass to Russia.

The deal is frozen conflict on current battle lines. No U.S. recognition beyond the designation of “Russian occupied territories” in determining the DMZ. No NATO for 20 years. EU membership allowed. Continued weapon sales for defense.

Trump is a master negotiator and realizes Ukraine has zero leverage whatsoever and that cutting its losses is the only option.

But, Trump's number one priority is to wasting tax dollars on a proxy war that never had a thing to do with our national interest.

He wouldn't have surrounded himself with Vance, Tulsi and RFK Jr. if he didn't believe that.

Vance has been talking about the frozen conflict strategy (including defensive arms sales to Ukraine) for almost a year.

You haven’t been paying attention, Ivan.
