Why isn’t this concept considered unconstitutional?
It damn well should be unconstitutional. But they haven’t been able to get red states to sign on to it, which is apparent from the map, so...it has never been enacted formally and bindingly.
Apparently, it is a “State’s Rights” issue, and this is their idea to get out from under the terrible (for their schemes) Electoral College.
After all, today’s Leftists are much smarter than our Founders were, right????
Because….it was made by Democrats.
If Democrats think it’s great, then it’s “constitutional”..
As a Marylander, I was angry hearing about this garbage years ago. They want to totally ensure my vote counts for nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Never mind how many Dem citizens 2-1 that will be pissed when they threw their EVs to Trump despite Harris winning Maryland. LOL
If a state government wants to surrender its citizens’ sovereignty, that’s between them.
It is unconstitutional, short of a Constitutional Amendment. Color me doubtful that 3/4 of the States would voluntarily subjugate their sovereignty in this fashion to the intemperate communists.
The fact is, electoral votes belong to the various state legislatures and can be allocated however the legislatures determine.
I agree that any allocation that relies on any votes that are cast outside a state’s borders amounts to a dilution of the votes of the citizens of that state...
But the f*ctards are stupid enough to elect these sorts of brain dead legislators...well, they kind of deserve what they get.
California s will be able to take great solace in the fact that their precious electoral votes aggregate to Trump.....
I wonder, in light of their adoption of that stupid Compact, now the California legislature can fail to deliver their electoral votes to Trump.through votes
