The likes of Adam McKay, Bette Midler, Sophia Bush, Stephen King, John Cusack, Christina Applegate reacted to Donald Trump inevitable win with a mixture of shock, anger, confusion and mainly sadness.
Let the Democrat dooming begin.
Hollywood went to bed on Tuesday night dreading the prospect of Donald Trump winning the 2024 presidential election as the former president began racking up state after state. But there were perhaps still hopes of a 2020 style reversal on Wednesday morning, if the big swing states in the much-vaunted ‘Blue Wall’ came through. Alas, the hopes were dashed after Wisconsin was called for Trump, clinching him his 270 electoral votes.
Despite no official declaration of the presidential race being over, Trump wasted no time in declaring victory, hitting the stage at his victory party at Mar-a-Lago at 2:30 a.m. ET. In his typical meandering and blustering style, the former president claimed a “magnificent” victory. Harris did not speak as election night turned into Wednesday morning and supporters gathered for what was supposed to be a celebration at her alma mater, Howard University. Her campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond told the crowd she will address the nation later Wednesday.

Bet mittler posited she’d drink Drano if he won. Cheers bet!
Anyplace burning yet? When does “shopping” start? Our Sams club was pretty well stocked with flat screens yesterday. 😊👍
Let’s not get too giddy yet. The left has a lot of tools.in their belt to attempt to reverse the election results, starting with two cases in New York.
Air Canada would be wise to have a post election sale! 🍁
We had some black voters see the light in this election but unfortunately too many of them are still stuck on DemoRat stupid.
no one is keeping you here.
“You have to care that someone has an opinion before you can care what that opinion is.”
I wish it was that easy. There are a number of ways to lose a majority while not losing on the issues. And the first Trump presidency is a good example.
Having a majority and using it are two different things. And the isues being still there and worse than they were are a troubling area. Trump did an outstanding job of attacking the issues and getting them closer to resolved but was never allowed to by his own party besides the liberals/socialists.
So until the party cleans up its theology on what they represent, the can goes down the road. And when the liberals can retake the command by not allowing the conservatives (?) to finish the problems Trump, apparently by himself, is trying to clear up, they won’t go away.
Do the opinions of liberal headline getters mean anything? When you consider that this election had little to do with the issues rather than being a popularity contest, then those opinions are foremost in the minds of the liberals. And the only reason Trump won was people finally got put upon enough to get a real possible change into office even though the next election will look just like 2020 with the same results afterwards. Can’t go part way and expect to be there.

Bette Midler, who has been a vocal critic of Trump over the years, quoted journalist and essayist H.L. Mencken. She posted on X: “When a candidate for public office faces the voters he does not face men of sense; he faces a mob of men whose chief distinguishing mark is the fact that they are quite incapable of weighing ideas, or even of comprehending any save the most elemental — men whose whole thinking is done in terms of emotion, and whose dominant emotion is dread of what they cannot understand. So confronted, the candidate must either bark with the pack or be lost… All the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum… The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
So, Mencken is calling our whole society vacuous? We have just been saved from continuing the moronity in the White House. I am so glad we are not a democracy, especially “Our Democracy”.
Oh my!!!!!!!!!!!
Yowza! She gets both my votes.
District of Columbia voted 92.59% demonrat...
That's why every time you have any dealings with the federal government all you get is a rash..!!
Dear Ms Midler:
The Draino I promised to send in on the way.
Should be delivered by Amazon in a couple days.
Thanks,
Zathras and the other 8 Zathras.
This is also why Rs cannot be tried fairly there. The jury pool is irretrievably tainted. This is something R’s should address by having “crimes” against FedGov heard in a randomly-assigned district, or having the jury made up of members from ALL federal districts.
I’ll buy the can of Drano for Bette Midler.
The left really banked on lawfare to take out Trump. The problem is that with all the legal/cop shows a lot people in America are amateur lawyers. We saw right through the flimsy cases based on made up laws. The real victims of lawfare are the J6 hostages languishing in the DC gulag. Trump needs to get them the hell out of there as fast as he can.
Love every minute of it.
