I have a soft spot for the old school TV Dinners (Swanson, Banquet). I swear the Trader Joe’s fried chicken uses the same breading that Swanson’s did. (better chicken, though). I like the meatloaf, Salisbury steak, turkey, little carrot cubes with peas, the mashed potatoes are wonderfully horrible, and maybe an apple or peach cobbler.

Me, too. Sort of embarrassing but I look for it first in freezers and never find it. Memories of childhood. Thanks for the hint about Trader Joe’s.

I remember the Swanson TV dinners in the 50s in the foil containers with pockets for the different foods. Mom almost always cooked, but she’d occasionally serve us those. It was weird — after home-cooked food all the time, the TV dinners seemed like a treat. We had metal folding TV tables and would actually eat them on the TV tables while watching TV.

Hadn’t thought about that in years!

I used to use those for dinners on occasion when I worked full time.

They were very convenient.
