TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — The longtime music director at a northern Michigan church said he was fired just a few months before retirement after officials learned that he was in a same-sex marriage, a dismissal that has angered members and led to sidewalk protests by the choir.

“He’s extremely talented, he’s perfect on the piano, he has perfect pitch and because of him, I look forward to going to church every week,” said Bob Holden, a chorister at St. Francis Church in Traverse City.

“I’m divorced. Do I get thrown out next?” Holden told the Traverse City Record-Eagle.

I assume they all are gay after Ray Boltz came out. The author of “The Anchor Holds”? He came out after 30 years of marriage to his wife so I think he is just deranged to claim he was never attracted to women. The evidence says otherwise.

They should demand back the salary paid to him since his fake “marriage” all the way back to 2020. He was deceiving the Church, he should be grateful he gets to keep that.

It's a Catholic church...employees of the Diocese are required to sign a morality clause for
employment. My wife is a Catholic school 5th grade teacher for 20 plus years. She signs
one of these every year. Since the Priest scandals, our Diocese has a zero tolerance policy
for this stuff...just a whiff of it and you are gone...priest or lay person.

Pretty standard to have a morality clause/scandal clause in any employment contract.

Catholic schools and churches probably stipulate no homo activity.

They probably put up with his violation for four years, then canned him per his contract.

As a supervisor in a large plant, I had two homosexual employees in the 70’s and 80’s (a guy and a girl). Didn’t know for many years. Went to clubs with them. Then another employee told me they were gay. Ignored that wnd we remained friends
