Designating Election Day as a national holiday and giving workers the day off paid would largely mitigate the need for mail-in voting and make possible a return to paper ballots, eliminating the need for voting machines which have been swamped in scandal since 2020.

Make it Federal law to show valid ID as proof of citizenship.
Eliminating mail-in voting would make a bigger impact. No other country has this.
A lot of us work on weekends and holidays. 12-hour shifts, myself.
Indelible ink would help, too.
LEAVING IT ON TUESDAY IS OK-—
I HAVE VOTED IN PERSON FOR THE PAST 64 years-—31 of them while living rural & DRIVING a fair distance to vote.
THIS is something that doesn’t need a date change.
IT needs CORRECT registration & VOTER ID-—IN PERSON—WHICH IS HOW I HAVE ALWAYS VOTED.
Saturday will cause scrams from football people, rap concert people, minorities and women who the man makes work on Saturdays and what not...
Fine but for the Elections Clause of the Constitution
Early voting can be done on the day before. Seniors, handicapped and veterans only(proof-DD Form 214). Find a way to include fingerprinting like they do in Iraq.
A separate line at the polls for those who carry a filled out sample ballot to copy. Party line ballots for those who wish to vote straight party-line. Get in and out. Lesss standing in line.
In-person voting on ONE day...Only ballots from military stationed overseas allowed through mail. if you can’t make it to the polls, Tough Sh*t....
I DO have a problem with a COUNT that takes days or weeks.
IMO, we should know by 2AM the next morning.
“I have no problem with early voting, even if it is a couple of weeks long.”
I absolutely have a problem with it. It’s just awful.
I worked a lot of Saturdays and holidays. I managed to vote when I worked on Election Day before or after work.
Anyway I’ve been voting by mail for at least 10 years and texts from the Recorder on the status of my ballot
**A lot of us work on weekends and holidays.**
There could be a provision for stricter absentee voting.
**I HAVE VOTED IN PERSON FOR THE PAST 64 years**
Good for you. It was not too long ago when a man would get on his horse and ride 5 miles to vote. They took it more serious then.
Silly person.....obscurity and confusion are the two main tools of our dystopian government. Toss in division, and it’s the Bureaucrats Trifecta.
I imagine Pres Trump will do just that.
Several European and South American countries tried mail-in ballots, all have repealed it because of fraud.
Great idea!!! The clowns on the far-left say they want to “unite” America again. THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT. WE ALL VOTE TOGETHER AT THE POLLS ON THE SAME DAMN DAY. If you can’t make it, thems the breaks. Tuff.
My wife and I have always voted in person. We’ve nothing to hide and we always only vote once per election. It’s an American thing.
I'm 65 on election day this year. On that day.
Here's to you Mrs. Gallagher, you battle-axe. A title you should embrace, given your profession and civic duty.
Yes, but how does that happen since the State Legislatures have final authority regarding their voting rules? While I'm a State's Rights advocate, I would like to see some sort of Fedgov uniform voting rules. However, that would take a Constitutional Amendment. That is not going to happen.
Too bad the Founding Fathers couldn't have come to some agreement or Amendment for uniform voting procedures. There doesn't seem any way out of this mess, except for lawsuits and that depends on the biases of the Judges.
Does that come with risk?
...welcome to the New World (Order).
