Oh, Teacher, Teacher, pick me please! I love it when my friends/acquaintances/people I wish I never met throw this at me. My response is the same to both Canadians and Americans -
“Your U.S. Constitution/Our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms elevate the rights of the individual above the rights of the collective, so I have no moral responsibility to consider others before I make the best decision for my well-being. As soon as I start believing that the rights of others supersede my own, I’ll move to China or Cuba, where I’ll fit right in.”
