Was this one of those “he was worth more dead than alive to the record company” stories?
I have No musical ability but all my life I’ve wanted to combine three great songs to make one really great song.
I fought the law and the law won. Indiana wants me, lord I can’t go back there. And a song that says: And along came Hop a Long Cassidy, Buffalo Bill, Jesse James, and ten thousand Cavalrymen but I can’t remember their names.
I think it’s called Cowboy Corral early 60’s.
I’d love to hear these three blended into one song.
He wrote two other memorable songs: “Walk Right Back,” a hit for the Everly Brothers, and “Love Is All Around,” the theme for the Mary Tyler Moore Show.
.
Awful....
“I Fought the Law”: along with “El Paso” and “The Authority Song”, one of my three favorite ‘unsuccessful miscreants’ songs.
I knew nothing about the tragic death of that musician.
But, speaking of ‘macabre and never explained’,
the violent death of actor Bob Crane remains a mystery to this day.
This was actually the best version.
“the violent death of actor Bob Crane remains a mystery to this day.”
Really did and do love Bob Crane. Loved Hogan’s Heroes, a show filled with cute guys. I loved them all, even Colonel Klink!
I watched a whole true crime TV show about his murder, but all I can remember is they really didn’t have much to work with, so they just made it all super creepy. I was sorry I watched it.
Bob Crane’s long time friend was prosecuted in Arizona, I think, but he was found not guilty.
Those two did some weird things together, not homosexual, but really weird. The prosecutor put forth the notion that the friend was jealous of Crane’s success and money but the jury did not think so.
Joe Strummer there’s a blast from the past. Wonder whatever happened to his Fender Stratocaster..?
Was that a test or was that from actual combat?
Looks like a test
Somewhere on YouTube is the song “Let Her Dance” by his band maybe 20 years ago. Great song and performance.
"Hogan's Heroes" was created by Albert Ruddy....who later produced a little film called "The Godfather".
Paramount+ has a very good 10-episode mini-series about the making of "The Godfather" - "The Offer" - and VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I would guess that that’s from either a test or range firing ...
Yeah 👍
