If everyone is packed into cities then the second to last thing standing in their way to get comfortably tight control, American gun culture, will die away. The last thing is faith but they will beat that out of everyone, they think, when the guns people are gone.
People in the country have room and incentive to make hunting a family tradition, at little cost, and knowing and working with their neighbors makes for stronger bonds.
People in the cities don’t have the space to hunt, especially if they are poor. Hunting is too inconvenient. Gun range time costs and it just doesn’t build comraderie like a hunting trip. While neighbors are physically closer, the lack of outdoor hunting and working keeps most people focused inside the home and reduces neighbors to strangers.
